there is a piccy of it in the for sale section , from there it has been stripped down into 2 boxes of bits and rebuilt again , piccies are like popes poo , but today i have had a go at cleaning her up , i have done the headset , as much as i can , its very rough though .
It is a mk1 frame but i fear that it will be very hard to get bits for am i right ?
If this is the case i may turn it into a mk2 as this will be easier to get complete

I have got a little time to myself while my lady is at work so its that time again , and i have decided to do what i can at home in my little comfort zone . So i have decided that today i am going to sort out the front wheel as best as possible , i have removed the front tyre albeit after some fight from it , so the washing up liquid came into play and made life so much easier. I have already removed the front bearings as well as the spindle and washed oiled and reset them but as i want to get the wheel in warm soapy water for rust removal i am going to take them all out again , wash and derust the wheel as best as possible then i will re oil and reset the spindle assembly . The innertube is an original one so that was taken out and pumped up and put in clean warm water to check for any punctures , but despite there being a couple of repairs already on it , there is no escapage . Once this is all done she will be dressed with a new redline !

As she is in a state of about eight different shades of paint from , orange to purple , black , blue and whatever else i am going to do the frame last if at all , as she is a very well played with bike so i might just leave her as she is but any decisions on that will come a long way down the cycle path !!!

And so the next chapter of my rolling resto thats going to take from now until i die i guess, anyway , i had a good look at her again today and i have decided that i will start at the front and gradually move along to the back.
So far i have removed the front guard and cleaned it up and its not too bad , i have removed the front wheel and tyre assembly , removed the front spindle , dr greased and hot washed it, the same with the bearings , the spindle housing has been given the same treatment.
And so for todays chapter, well today i removed the front brake assembly , and stripped it down, down to its nuts and bolts , even the cable was stripped.
The inner cable was de kinked and given the 3 in 1 treatment, as was the outer, then left to soak in thoroughly. The the caliper was de greased and hot washed with brillo pads , and although the calipers are nearly 40 years old they have come up ok, there are patches of corrosion on them but its to be expected.
The cable tension bolts were also given the hot water and brillo teratment and the adjuster was "persuaded" to begin rotating up and down again , with my 2 friends , brute force and ignorance but they worked and it now rotates up and down as if it has just come out of the shop.
Finally it was all put back together and after a little fettling now works really well , so im well happy , it does not look like i have done much but its in the handling at the end of the day at the moment!

Well the missus is at work and i cant be arsed to do the housework so its chopper time again. Today i will be mainly cleaning the handlebars , headset , handlebar stem and the heron badge, although i have to say im not thinking its going to look much better than it is at the moment. Once that is done i am going to sort out and clean the chain ring , which at the moment is languishing on the floor of the shed , it cant be reset as i dont have any cotter pins for it here , they are all at home. I am also going to rob my daughters spares tommy of its rear wheel nut for the chopper as my rear wheel is a little wonky . And in between all that i will be drinking copious amounts of coffee . Once more into the breach
