I bought the old girl a set of new boots the other day , and when i removed the rear tyre to replace it with the new , the old rim tape (no laughing please) had become brittle and had snapped , so off to the bike shop to buy a new one , sorted .
Then back home to refit the tyre as well as the rim tape , then refit the front tyre as well and now the wheels look a lot better

I refitted the rest of the bike the other day , or should i say the other night , once the other half had gone out on the raz , in the bike came from the cold dark shed and into the nice warm dining room ,and so the refit began.

The front forks were re united with the bearing brackets , wich were the filled with the bearings which had been languishing in a cup of oil for ages.
Then the forks were refitted to the frame , the front wheel was added as was the guard and the front brake caliper so all very nice.
Then the bars were fitted , front brake sorted and adjusted.
The bike is now 90% complete , just on the look out for a mk1 seat , sissy bar and chain guard , i would love to have this bike ready for billing as a bit of a show type bike .

I have been at home for work and have been looking in the alladins cave and have found a mk1 headnut so im well happy , i have also dug out a couple of headset bearings as well as a set of front brake stays with rubbers and rain checks so a good days shopping for bog all cost , and i was about to buy the mk1 headnut from the bay so really glad i didnt .
