I've been to Blackpool and now i'm about to insult it sorry. Blackpool looked to me when i was there to be like they'd bought all the street decorations from poundland. Although i liked the pier, the beach was lovely and Louis Tussauds but thought it a tad bizarre that they have a waxwork serial killer area. It was a bit like Margate, looked in need of updating.
Brighton is totally different, but the pebbles and shingle on the beach is a total letdown.
But tis a lovely place. Is very different to Brighton 15 years ago. A lot has been done since then.The Marina was just a wasteland but now has cafes, restaurants and bars, and the same goes for most of the area between the 2 piers. Loads of shopping areas, the lanes nice if you are searching for the bizarre.
Down side to Brighton is if you want a parking space, most of it is taken.

not much of a consolation but would still like to make it over to brighton another weekend for a bit of a prom ride
