I was going to change the outers on my little girls tommy today and , well to be honest i cant , not without altering the inner. Somehow and im not sure how , they have put a nipple on each end so when its in its in and the only way of getting it out again is to snip the cable , erm why ??

some cables were sold with nipples on bothe ends so ya can choose what end to use. I have some with standard barrel nipples on one end and racer type on the other

I know that alot of the nipples on older motorbikes were held on with solder. You used to be able to buy inner wire kits that came with an assortment of nipples - you cut the wire to the required length, select your nips and solder them in place! it might be worth a look before you reach for the side snips
