That looks like my old one when I was a kid back in the early '80s. It had the prismatic stickers on it but I put a grifter back tyre and strika front on it Snapped it by the back wheel jumping off the bunkers and tees in Saltdean park Seem to remember having a set of Arena forks and front tyre with grifter handlebars too, although it was very hard to ride like that Never know what became of it

I don't know what happened to mine either, eventually. It was sold on in not much worse condition than I received it and completely bog standard despite a certain amount of off-roading and attempts to modify the gear shifter with my genitals. All I remember is some young kid's Dad turning up to pick it up the week before Christmas 1975 (my old bike always had to go before I got a new one). I bet it hasn't been looked after! Hmmmmph! On to serious matters, mine was a MK1 I'm sure, bought just before Christmas 1972 if I remember correctly. It definitely had the mk1 gearshift, and I remember Mk2s coming out and looking slightly different. However, all the Mk1 orange Choppers I've seen latterly have much wider bars than mine had. Mine were narrow, like the ones I see on restored Mk2s now. Was mine something of a "crossover" between Mk1 and mk2? Or were wider bars fitted to earlier ones? No biggie, just one of those things that has bugged me for years and I figured that someone on here may have the definitive answer.

Yes the last of the mk1 choppers came fitted with the more narrow mk2 style bars. due to the earlier ones moving from the headset, a few people lost there front teeth i believe...

Cheers, Dude! I rather suspected it was something along those lines and it's cool to hear it from someone who knows. ;D I like the lines of the narrow bars better.........but then again I also like the mk3 Ben Sherman edition............

Its almost finished now. Here it is in its new Harley colours. Now i'm just waiting for the orange seat strap, and 2 mirrors to arrive in the post. And still need to find a chainguard for it.
