I had a frame with a pair of forks bent at the top where they join the frame, I thought that it was an impossible job to straighten them but i covered the bottom of the forks so they wouldnt take the impact then i stood over the top of a wall and wacked the forks from just below half way down and the things straightened, Theres obviously better ways of doing this but i did think this was an impossible job. ;D

took three pairs of grifter forks into a bike shop in truro that were really well bent, one pair when the front wheel was on the rim went past the bottom of the bike frame.any way first off they said they don't straighten forks anymore then an old fella came out and said leave them with him with a front wheel.picked them up a week later they were perfect, he said a bit of heat here and there boy is what we used to do.£15, stoked. laced up my first wheel today, now that feels good.

you can straighten them with a club hammer and some 4 x 2 wood. Just lay the forks on the wood and place another bit over the top and hit them with the hammer till they are straight. Ive done loads of forks like it and it works a treat.
