It seems to have taken ages to get round to doing any work on it but this is what I have managed so far . . . I managed to salvage the origional grips and picked up the red bar ends on e-bay - they are a bit bigger than the origionals but better than nothing. I hade decided to leave the crank off until I get the wheels finished, I have them laced with new spokes but I would imagine it will be another week before I find the time to tru them. Some people may recognise the bike by the seatpost, I bought it off e-bay as a 'MINT' example ( I can feel my blood boil again - your not allowed to swear on here are you? ) I have decided to keep the seatpost as it makes for a comfy ride. I am going to have a lie down again after I mentioned the 'mint' thing again . . . . .

I'm guessing you have new tyres and decals for it??? I have got everything I need now, I have never managed to find the right pedals for it - if only it had a 1/2" crank, I could get pedals for it all day long! I have found a pair which are similar in the USA so they will have to do. I have also managed to locate a a pair of thimbles off a raleigh moped, i'm not sure if they will fit yet but I can return them for a refund if they are wrong and they were considerably cheaper than the guy wanting £20/pair plus p+p on e-bay for chopper ones.

I bought it off e-bay as a 'MINT' example ( I can feel my blood boil again - your not allowed to swear on here are you? ) I kinda had that problem. Although it was phrased as 'The best looking Strika on the net' Should've seen that coming. You've gone and bought my favourite Bomber, sweet

So this is how far I have got to today . . The thimbles that I ordered from a guy who deals with Raleigh mopeds fit a treat. The pedals have come from the States are are nice and shiney. New spokes and tyres fitted and rear caliper cleaned and mounted. I'm still waiting for brake blocks (raincheck) and the other side of the crank ( a 99p brand new e-bay bargain ) The next thing is to fit the decals so any top tips for getting it right first time?

A steady hand I see you have cable ties holding the brake cable on, have the lugs snapped off? It looks great mate, well done
