I just received a Competition GS from my father-in-law. So far as I can tell so far, its in spectacular condition—no rust seen so far, original everything, bike pump and all.
It's been mostly sitting in an enclosed storage area for some time. I plan to replace the tires and tubes, but I wanted to ask what else should be replaced, just given the age of the bike. Chain? Cables?
And what can I handle myself and what should be left to an experienced repair person?
