just picked up my next project, a totally standard original 82 tuff burner, needs a little bit of TLC but its all there and not been messed with. One thing that is odd though, the one piece crank is painted silver rather than shiny metal, im sure ive heard of this before on early mk1 burners, can any burner guru throw any light on this, also i need a back snakebelly as its nearly bald so if anyone can help out you would be god !!!!

My specification says its chrome plated. I'd guess that the colour has dulled over the years and someones sprayed that. Thats amazing for a survivor. I've just looked at the old Burner brochure and thats not the same crank as the brochure. The one in there has a star shape in the middle of the crank.

If those wheels are original Tuff 2s they'll be worth good money.

one of the kids in my village had that bike new in 82. It took ages for him to let us have a go on it. I remember it feeling strange to ride with the longer pedal arms compared to normal bikes.

Very nice - but are those the original pedals - I thoght they were completely different to them ?

I must admit that i thought the same thing then i looked at a pic of another Tuff and they had them pedals on as well, unless it was a pic of the same bike
I thought Burners had those black moulded plastic pedals. Well i know mine did and thats a MK1 but rebranded as a Mag Burner with cheaper parts.

I remember rat traps. I didnt realise they came with the original bike. Maybe they did then changed em for safety I hated the things. Stunts with things that could tear up your legs.

Oh, Just took me a bit longer
