hello everyone, my first post i am darren this bomber has been languishing in a shed at my nans for 25 odd years. it used to be my uncles when he was a teenager and i used to use it when i stayed at weekends, nan recently moved and we are clearing the out buildings. there's a fair bit of nostalgia surrounding this bike, said uncle died many years ago and i don't actually have a bike, so decided to save it from going the skip and recommission it. i owned a striker followed by chrome burner in the 80s so i was quite envious of this bigger bike, and with gears ! i apologise for the pictures which look like 4 year old took them on a nokia 7250, it was cold and raining and using my crappy SE phone, but hopefully get the gist ! does anyone know the approx age ? it was stored in a draughty old shed, so while its not had direct water contact, its had a fair bit of "humidity" !! everything is free and working (including the sturmey) my main concern is that the chrome parts are in bad shape, i wondered if they can be re-chromed ? i have the technical and mechanical nouse to do the all the other work although i've never re-spoked a wheel from scratch (only replaced a few) the other issue is decals, they are faded and hanging off, can reproduction vinyl's be sourced ? many thanks for any help, just off to read some of your other threads

Apart from the wheels the Bomber looks in o.k shape. Is the seat free of splits? Great news if so. Soak the rusty chrome with WD40, I've seen bikes that looked doomed come up amazing with that stuff! Check the hub, it should give you a clue on the year of the bike. Oh and welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you saved the bike!

Looks like a MK1 24" bomber judging by the reflector bracket on the seatpost. The MK2s were fitted direct to the seat
