Hi guys. Just getting started on my first Grifter restoration. Kinda making this up as I go along but looking forward to it. Picked up this silver 1979 mk2 last week for £20. My original thought was to re-build it like the red ones I had as a kid, but now I'm wondering if I really should be keeping the bike as close to standard as I can? Oh well, plenty of work to do before I have to make that decision! Having a few problems linking photos. managed to link to an album - any advice embedding images?? picasaweb.google.com/106358050669645961517/1979Mk2GrifterRestoration?authuser=0&feat=directlink

Right then. Time to stop playing about with bits of chrome that are easy to get off and get on with the job. Now past the point of no return!

Hi guys, not sure whether I should start a new thread in the wanted section (?) but I'm after an original seat, seat clamp (and R nut), grips and maybe a set of mud guards for this job. Willing to pay sensible money. Been trawling eBay relentlesly but it seems that picking seperate parts is gunna cost me a fortune. As an alternate, also been looking for a complete bike that I can get the spares from but everytime a bike within collecting distance gets listed it seems to end early If any of you have got bits and pieces spare I'd love to hear from you.
