Hi guys. Just getting started on my first Grifter restoration. Kinda making this up as I go along but looking forward to it. Picked up this silver 1979 mk2 last week for £20. My original thought was to re-build it like the red ones I had as a kid, but now I'm wondering if I really should be keeping the bike as close to standard as I can? Oh well, plenty of work to do before I have to make that decision! Brasso and a brillo pad!
Have now invested (heavily) in WD40 and Autosol!

Hi guys, not sure whether I should start a new thread in the wanted section (?) but I'm after an original seat, seat clamp (and R nut), grips and maybe a set of mud guards for this job. Willing to pay sensible money. Been trawling eBay relentlesly but it seems that picking seperate parts is gunna cost me a fortune. As an alternate, also been looking for a complete bike that I can get the spares from but everytime a bike within collecting distance gets listed it seems to end early  If any of you have got bits and pieces spare I'd love to hear from you. |

Slow progress I'm afraid, due to time but quick update: Thimbles out   Cotter pins and stand out   Just waiting for some good weather to get out in the garden with the Nitromors! |
