;D well spotted mate, yeah, when i restored the bike from the wreck it was, a new seat had to be sourced as it had split badly to the left and right, it was a bargain at the time, i think it was about £15 posted... really finished the bike off as i was using a modern gel, sprung style seat...

Very true chris... the chrome was veiny and pitted, so i originally painted the stem black! but then andy (supergrip) suggested i rubbed the chrome off, go below the copper and take it back to bare steel, which i did, and it looks fine... there are some pics on here somewhere i am sure of it....
