Well I've been skulking about wondering what to do with the ratty RSW I bought off the bay...... I've since stripped it and not left with anything much that doesn't need some work! All VERY rusty but with some potential. Been casting my eye around the net and have been looking at the current crop of small Hondas about, Cubs, Chalys and the like. Seeing as I can't even afford a Cub these days (!!!), started looking at the RSW. Basically a lot of stuff seen on blogs like Chalopy and odyline customs. Just thought the lines would translate onto the smaller wheeled Raleighs to offer something different to the run of the mill lowrider bikes you get.

So started work now, stripped the wheels, chrome was shot so sand blasted the rims, sprayed black, rebuilt the rear Sturmey Archer hub and brake and laced a small flange hub into the front rim. Iv'e fitted Chopper front tyres to keep the height etc plus I think they look better with the black rims.

Next step is to see what I can do with the frame and forks I'll it the wheels as is and see where the whole bike sits. I'm thinking about a little stretching and lowering, though I don't think I'll be able to drop it that much!

Those chps are mad, are they all based on Honda Cubs ? Did you have white balloon tyres on the RSW originally ? I need a pair for my CWS commuter and keep missing them on ebay

Hi, I still have the old ones, they're cracked all to hell, which is a pity as they have alot of tread left. I'm not sure how good the casing was on those Michelins........Weren't they synthetic?

Oh, yeah, the first three pics are C90 Cubs and the last two are CF70s. It's a bit geeky but you relly should see how much they're fetching these days! Bicycles are far cheaper.........at first.......
