Hi All :9:
My sister told me that my 6 Year old nephew was envious of his older brothers BMX (he has a Mk 1 Chrome Burner), and could i put something together for him ?
Jumped at the chance to restore an old school BMX for the younger generation ;D
I got a Styler F+F from Stella Artoiz ( Jase, your a star ) along with some white wall tyres and a seat and post and an SR stem, Tange BB, Maxy pedals and Mk 2 Bars.
I had an old Weinman caliper set and some MX copy levers, a Mk 1 BMX seat and some raleigh mags to complete the build.
I had seen J.T's avatar(RB.com) of his orange and black TAP and liked it so much, decided that was the paint scheme i was going to follow for my nephews bike( as his favourite colour is orange ;D ) Cheers Julian, for the inspiration, hope you don't mind ?!
I had also seen some of 1mancity2's(RB,BW) work, and contacted him to see if he would do some pwdercoating for me To my delght, he agreed
So out came the nitromors and i set about stripping the F+F, ready for Alistair (1mancity2) to powdercoat. He also agreed to do the handlebars and stem top as well.
I sent him all the parts, and then ordered some decals ( Cheers Mark BW ) They look the Plums!!!
Within a week the F+F, bars and stem top were back. Alistair has made a spot on job of the powdercoating ;D
I looked over the powder at least a dozen times, and couldn't find a blemish anywhere. His quality of work and exceptional turnaround time is second to none. The powder was shiny all over and not to thick or thin, very even all over, even considering there are 2 colours involved Will defo be sending more work your way Alistair, Big Thanks Buddy
Then was just the assembly left Greased everything up and got this together one evening after work. Aint used top notch parts on this, as it will be a rider for a 6 year old, so will get trashed
He wil be getting it either for his 7th birthday in October or Christmas, depends how much he bugs my little sis
Comments, good or bad, welcome
Cheers
Paul
