Can't work out how to cable up the front derailleur on the mamber. It came off the maverick and had those eyelets that terminate the outer cable on the frame and bare cable inners running through a plastic bracket underneath the bottom bracket. There's no place to terminate the outer cable before it hits the front mech. Do some front mechs have this or am I just clutching at straws and have to pull the 3 ring crank off and fit the early maverick one I got from Mr Moose and stick with 5 gears ?

could you fit one of the old sturmey wheels to the seat tube? one like this i should think it would fit between the seat tube and chainring, but i don't know, whether the smallest chainwheel might foul. they aern't that dear so it might be worth a try

ase for terminating the cable, use a sturmey fulcrum clip- they do them for both 7/8ths and one inch top tubes (and presumabley down tubes as well)

I was thinking large fulcrum clip but I'm guessing the seat downtube is 28.6mm ? Front mech had 30 stamped on it but it was too loose so I cut an inner tube and wrapped it once round the downtube and clamped the mech round that. Don't know what size 7/8ths is but I guess its less than 25mm Apparently I need a bolt on cable guide similar to this
