They keep popping up on freecycle here, have a look on ebay Selling it as untested it might be worth a fiver if you're lucky

Without the lead that connects to the TV it isn't worth anything. You will have to get a genuine sega lead and they are as common as hobby horse sh1t, the ones on e-bay fetch good money. I made the same mistake as you, i eventually found a complete setup in a car boot sale for £5, to be honest I would have paid that for the lead on its own. The following week I got a complete genesis setup with 4 games for £8. If you are looking for these type of things in secondhand shops keep a lookout for the 32X which plugs into megadrive, these sell on e-bay for £50+ or the mega CD which also fetch good money.
