Will a MK1 seat strap fit a MK2 Chopper? As i've just bought one off of ebay and wasnt paying attention to the mk1 part.

mk1s had about x3 different orange ones and also 2x different white ones and a blck one for the usa spec girlie. mk2s all had the legend ONLY SUITABLE FOR ONE RIDER ETC on white only with fake edge stitching o and it will fit

Ah, Thats good news thanks Wazza. I didnt realise that it said that on the strap of the mk2. But i do want the orange one for my custom. Cheers

How do you fit it? I thought that you'd attach it behind the bolts but theres only 1 hole on the strap.

put it over the the bolt on one side, push the bolt through so that it is only just poking the the opposite side to where you have the strap fitted, pull the strap tight, mark the hole, punch it out then trim the end to match the opposite side !!
Alternatively, go see the R.C.O.C for a mk2 strap, or contact the seat restoration specialist Niven Ladd.
