went out on me mountain bike this savo and hated the seating position so put it in the shed, took off the straight handlebars and stem, had a look round the shed and the bike shed, stole my grifter xl stem and found my renthal (i think thats what they are called) motor bike handlebars stole some cables and a gear lever off me other bike. and after 2 hours or so i now have a, what feels like a big frame grifter. the funiest bit is it feels so right when you ride it. so tommorrow its time to fit my daughters bike seat that goes on the back, then off for a test ride which after ill take some picks for on here.

big bars on MTBs are good.
Ive recently built a Mark 1 Raleigh Mustang clone. Its got wide bars in a SR BMX stem. So its a shortish reach to the bars. feels relaxing to ride.
I got a set of Renthall bars from the boot sale for £1. I was going to fit them on my old Raleigh cruiser. But some one gave me an 80s Ridgeback. So Ive got the wheels, cranks and big bars of that on the Raleigh just now
