i had these pics of my bombers on the bomber forum but they disappeared off the radar, so im landing them in here ;D. The bomber was one of those bikes i didnt want when they came out, a few reasons really, i was well into bmx at the time and i thought it looked kind of weird, like nothing else and i only know of two that were ever in the school bike sheds of hundreds of bmx, racers, shoppers and choppers/grifters. It wasnt until a year ago that i put the words raleigh bomber into ebay that i was greeted with a few good examples for sale and they were fetching around the £100 mark, i suddenly got all nostalgic for these bikes that twenty odd years ago i wouldnt give the time of day for, all of a sudden through the mists of time, they look cool, i had to have one and after picking up my first from Twickenham, the second came along within a month and was a bargain i couldnt resist. If we had only known at the time when the bomber was released, what we was looking at was the beginning of the mountain bike invasion and the rest is history.

I never used to like them because i knew a kid that had one and i hated him, which meant i had to hate his bike as well I like em now though, although i still think they'd be the proper dogs if they had a bar across the handlebars like a Motorbike
