Excellent condition ---1974 Raleigh 22DL Sport 3-speed built in Nottingham September 1974. Single owner was a university professor and this bicycle has been stored inside for all its existence. Originally purchased in Statesboro GA in September 1975. All original parts with the exception of new tires and brake pads. Seat was specially requested at time of purchase by owner so not a Brooks. Paint job is still a nice deep copper brown and is both unfaded and unblemished. The only scratch is the small one in white paint on rear fender shown in photo 7. Decals are in near mint condition. Some light very small spots of surficial rust spots in a few places on the rims, but should be easily buffed and cleaned. Overall in extremely nice condition for a bicycle from 1974.
Frame is 23". Measurement from the top of the crossbar to the ground is 32 1/4".
Comes with the original manual, certificate with serial number( # NM4212837) and date of purchase, and original Raleigh tool. I'm posting this to help my good friend and Raleigh owner (now a 91 year old emeritus professor of Biology) try to sell his bicycle. He has biked as recently as 3 years ago, but think it is now best to let it go! He just had it serviced prior to posting by a respected bicycle dealer and it received an excellent rating. Should be no issues with it at all. Located near Asheville NC. Asking $265 but will consider reasonable offers.
