ebay - buying from china??

this is a general query - are there any pitfalls or problems associated with buying stuff off the ebay from china, hong kong, etc? has anyone had any good or bad experiences?

My very first buy was from hong kong, waited 2 weeks and nothing arrived so I emailed the seller and within a week I got the original order and the replacement!
Not done anymore deals over there as far as I can remember
