managed to get out for a couple of hours today, just kept it local because i had my boy along side, anyway when i was a kid, we used to go down to the local train station (thornton cleveleys) and watch the ICI coal wagons and freight go up and down the lines, anyway that was 30 odd years ago and the station has been pulled to bits and neglected for a good 40 years until recently when they are starting to renovate the station to its 1940,s glory, a massive project but it will look brilliant when its finished. I remember grifting up and down the platforms on my then new mk1 grifter in 77 along with my mates who also had grifters. Anyway, bang up to date, im betting this is the first grifter to be ridden on the platforms again in well over 30 years, its amazing how the child in you can return, even my 6 year old thinks im mental Can i just point out that the line has been disused since 88 for any health and safty numptys that are reading , its amazing how nobody gave a toss about being near a railway as a child of the 70,s yet we have to be wrapped in cotten wool now because of the nanny state we have become, anyway, thats another story............
