mk1 5 speed project

Had this one for a while now, but finally getting it somewhere. It was a little bent a the rear of the frame, but straightening caused the rear drop outs to crease so i had to make some new ones.

Then out came the grinder.

Then a trial fit.

And this is it now,hopeing to get it in pumkin orange paint in the next few weeks.

yes its took ages to get right but it will be worth it in the end. Also collected a few needed parts along the way. Its going to be a rider so il get it painted and put it together, wont be doing any rechroming. It will be a rolling project. ;D

Top man and great pictures paul. Do you intend on re-applying the original stickers? did you get them copied aj?

No I never had them scanned. Just replacing the original Raleigh decals.

reminds me of my old chopperuper as it had the same problem with the top tubes, when it came to the seat post they bent up towards the back tubes, the reason it was called chopperuper was because it was a mk2 front end and a mk1 back end lolz, heres a pic but you cant see the kink it

sold it for £120 in the end
