the diff pinion looks nice and dry It was until the bleed pipe popped off and sprayed brake fluid over it. I know it wasn't cold today ( 8 deg ) but I spent about 4 hours outside from start to finish and I still can't warm up. Maybe it's time to start wearing socks and long trousers again

Well according to Mr. MOT man it's rusty we've spent a couple of days discovering rot and unbolting stuff Nearly £500 on secondhand body panels to make it go through. Luckily everything is just bolt on Passenger side sill with floor plates removed sill fell off the other end and left us wit hthis hole where the sill joins the rear tub and seatbox surface rust on the chassis isn't thick luckily unbolted the roof and rear door while waiting for jaz to get back from the park windscreen and frame out just a part of the rotten bulkhead as far as we got today. Needed an impact driver and new mole grips to finish the doors and side more tomorrow

Oh yeah, in theory the bolts undo but where you've got steel and alumininum together the bolts seize solid. I've lost count of how many bolts I've ground off. Carried on today and some pics from yesterday door and sill were cut off bulkhead was just too far gone today we managed to get the rear tub off and the chassis cleans up ok ( phew, so relieved ) this was before cleaning up jaz needs to weld a new bracket on here for the seat belt bracket had to hack up the side to get access to some tricky bolts more tomorrow as we work our way t o getting the wings and bulkhead off

Postponed with the cold but the rear tub is semi on. Jaz needed something quick so we went and looked at this and haggled the guy down from £1495 down to £800 as it needs a bulkhead. Good news is we know what to do now and also this is MOTd until July It's a Defender 110 Hi Cap ( High Capacity ) pickup , 2.5TD ( non-intercooled)
