Allo,
I have just got my motorised Raleigh Chopper back from a mates workshop after a bit of fettling and its now up for sale.
It's a MK 2 Raleigh Chopper frame that has been professionally fitted with a Yamaha QT50 shaft drive engine. The Guy I bought it from 5 or 6 years ago provided me with some paperwork, wiring diagrams etc... which will all come with the bike.
It's a 50cc engine and has just had a full set of gaskets new plug, rear indiactors, new beake light switch, massive apehanger handlebars and a general service. Its runs very sweet and is a kick start with a manual choke. I have also just ordered a new battery as well.
It retains the original Yamaha 18" rear wheel with drum brake and shaft drive and I sourced and fitted a rare Sturmey Archer drum front brake built into a Raleigh Chopper front wheel, so it stops on a six pence !
My intention was to put it in for a daylight MOT and get ot road legal which I belive it nearly is but with a new baby and lots of pedal car projects on the go as wel as my Bug I just don't have the time to use it so it's up for grabs.
The last one which I saw sold on eBay a few months back for £620 and in my opinion this one is much nicer and I am looking for £680. It's a great bike and I will be very sad to see it go but needs must and I have too much on at the moment.
The bike will need to be collected from Lower Earley in Reading and you'd need a trailer or van of some kind although it is light enough for an adult to pick up.
