Want to get Zephyr my 5 year old a decent bike to learn to ride on. I need to know what size bike to get him, tomahawk, strika or boxer ? Or possibly even smaller ? Anyone have a size guide for those bikes or is it just a case of find one for him to try first ?

Measure the inside leg in inches, then get the measurements for the bike/s, With the seat at it's lowest point measure from the top of the saddle to the floor and detract at least TWO inches.
Its a starting point and a recommendatyion i have heard many a time over the years.

ok so 19 inches is a bit too short for the strika so maybe a budgie or boxer ? he'll need stabilizers at first

just measured up my 6 year old lads boxer, the sloping top tube is about 17 inches from the ground at the seat end and 21 inches at the front. i reckon my lads inside leg measurement is about 20/21 inches and he can fit on it reasonably well it might be better to start off with something a bit smaller at first so your lad can put his feet down easily whilst learning. a "trailgator" seemed to help when my boy was learning, i think they get an idea of balancing whilst you're towing them along! ;D

i believe its a cycle track - at the local park ;D me and the lad go down there at the weekend to do bike racing back in the day my mate did 50 laps round it on his grifter for some charity event - all in blue gear apparently the bloke organising it was shouting out to him to change gear but he wouldn't because blue (1st) was the easiest to pedal!
