had to take advantage of this weekends beautiful mid september weather so we headed for langdale in cumbria, the most stunning place on earth but i had never ridden it so the challenge was set and off we went. bikes loaded up and off we went on a fantastic sunny sunday, what could go wrong..... it suddenly dawned on me as we were passing kendal that i hadnt put my pedals on board 
faced with the 50 mile trek back home and valuble hours lost, wasnt an option so whizzed into windermere town and found a motor factors open, joy, found the cheapest pair of mountain bike pedals and took them to the counter, "are you sure you have the right thread mate", yes was my answer, "what they going on mate", you really dont want to know i said, "try me", ok its a 1979 grifter ;D, "a what?

, "fair enough mate, i havnt got a clue", i told you that you didnt want to know 
. anyway, pedals sorted for a temporary measure and we had a stunning days grifting, even ended up in the hikers bar ;D ..........
